Swiss Creamed Peas

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3 cups frozen green peas
  • 1 cup sliced green onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon, zest of
  • 3 ounces shredded swiss cheese

Recipe

  • 1 cook peas according to package directions, drain.
  • 2 in the meantime, melt butter in a saucepan, add onion and cook until tender without browning.
  • 3 add flour and salt, stir to coat.
  • 4 add cream and lemon, cook and stir over medium high heat until thick and bubbly.
  • 5 reduce heat to low, add cheese and stir until melted.
  • 6 add drained peas, stir and serve.
