Syrian Rice

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • vegetable oil
  • 1/4 lb egg noodles
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 wash rice in water to remove all or most of the starch.
  • 2 in a medium pot put some oil in bottom of pot and heat under medium high.
  • 3 put 1/4 lbd of dry egg noodles in pot and mix constantly.
  • 4 add salt to water and add to pot as soon as noodles change color from yellow to light tan.
  • 5 bring to boil while stiring noodles into rice. when you can see noodle mixture through rice, cover pot and reduce heat to very low. rice will be ready in 20-30 minutes.
