The Best Damned Fried Banana Peppers Ever

Ingredients
- 10 banana peppers (washed, sliced lengthwise and seeds removed)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup saltine crackers, crushed
- vegetable oil (for frying)
Recipe
- 1 heat vegetable oil in frying pan over medium heat.
- 2 in medium bowl, mix together equal parts corn meal and crushed saltines.
- 3 prepare another shallow bowl of buttermilk.
- 4 dip banana peppers in buttermilk.
- 5 coat with cornmeal/cracker mixture.
- 6 fry in veg oil over medium heat until golden brown.
- 7 drain/cool slightly on paper towels.
- 8 enjoy alone or with cocktail sauce!
