Ingredients

- 4 herring fillets
- 2 small onions, sliced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2-3/4 cup vinegar
- 1 cup cold water
Recipe
- 1 soak herring for 3 or 4 hours in cold water.
- 2 wash in cold water and cut into cubes.
- 3 prepare a marinade with the remaining ingredients and marinate for 1-2 days.
- 4 drain and serve.
