Wasabi And Green Onion Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

- 3 lbs yukon gold potatoes, peeled, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons wasabi paste
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 cup chopped green onion
Recipe
- 1 bring potatoes to boil in large pot of water.
- 2 reduce heat to medium; cook until tender, about 17 minutes. drain well.
- 3 meanwhile, bring cream, butter, and wasabi paste to simmer in small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until butter melts.
- 4 season with salt and pepper.
- 5 keep hot.
- 6 heat oil in small skillet over medium heat; add green onions and sauté until wilted, about 3 minutes.
- 7 set aside.
- 8 using potato masher or potato ricer in same large pot, mash potatoes.
- 9 stir in hot cream mixture.
