Pickled Red Onions

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 medium red onions, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 in a large non-reactive skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.
  • 2 add red onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 2 minutes.
  • 3 add vinegar, oregano, sugar, salt and pepper.
  • 4 cook, stirring, until limp and tender, 2-3 minutes. serve hot.
